Financing tree service equipment
Tree service gear finances commercially, the chipper, the stump grinder, and the truck or trailer that carries them, often as one deal rather than piece by piece. What you repay each month comes down to the equipment, its price, the term you choose and the structure that suits the crew. As a rough guide it tends to land in the mid hundreds to low thousands a month, or the low-to-mid hundreds a week if that's how you budget, and a bigger chipper sits higher than a small stump grinder. That's a ballpark, not a quote. You can get a real indicative figure for your exact kit in under two minutes, and someone from our team takes it from there.
What you can finance
The kit an arborist runs finances the same commercial way, whether it's one machine or the whole rig:
A wood chipper, from a towable brush chipper up to a big drum machine that takes whole limbs. A stump grinder, from a walk-behind up to a tracked self-propelled unit. And the truck or trailer that carries the crew and the gear to site, whether that's a tipper, a chip truck, or a plant trailer.
You can finance any one of them on its own, or the working rig together. Tell us what you run and we'll sort the finance around it.
Rent or buy
There are three ways most crews finance this gear, and the right one comes down to how and when you want to own it. A Chattel Mortgage means the machine is yours from day one and you finance the purchase. Rent-to-Own spreads the cost as regular rentals with ownership at the end. A Lease keeps the repayments steady over a set term.
A chipper and a grinder earn from the first job they're on, which is why a lot of operators lean toward owning outright over time; but if you cycle machines or like predictable payments, a structure that plans for the next one can suit. You don't pick the lender; you tell us the gear and the business, and someone from our team compares lenders and arranges the finance in the structure that fits.
What drives the repayment
Three things move the figure more than anything else: the price of the machine (ex-GST), the term you run it over, and the structure you choose. A big drum chipper costs more to finance than a small stump grinder, simply because it costs more to buy, and a longer term lowers the monthly figure while costing a little more across the life of the finance.
We work from the machine price (ex-GST); the GST and the tax treatment are your accountant's territory. We won't put a rate or a total against it here, because the only figure worth acting on is the indicative one for your exact kit.
Financing the rig as one deal
A tree crew's kit rarely turns up one piece at a time. It's usually a chipper, a stump grinder and the truck or trailer that carries them, and it's cleaner to finance the working rig together than to chase a separate arrangement for each piece. Tell us what the rig looks like and we'll work out the best way to fund it as one.
For the towing and transport side, there's financing a work ute or commercial vehicle and financing trucks, trailers and transport, which can sit on the same picture as the chipper and grinder.
Who you'll deal with
You deal with a real person from our team, not a call centre and not a form that vanishes once you hit send. The same contact who arranges your finance is the one you can call when something comes up, before settlement and after. We compare the lenders so you don't have to, and we keep you in the loop in plain language the whole way through.
Common questions
Can I finance a wood chipper?
Yes. From a towable brush chipper to a big drum machine, the indicative figure reflects the machine and the term.
Can I finance the chipper, grinder and truck as one deal?
Often yes. The working rig can sit on one facility. Tell us the kit and we'll finance it together.
Can I finance a used machine?
Yes. New or used, the indicative figure reflects the machine and the term.
Do I need to find a lender myself?
