How Rent to Own works for equipment
Rent to Own is a rental that ends in ownership. You put the equipment to work from day one, pay a fixed amount every month across a term you choose, then own it outright for a final payment or two. There is no large upfront outlay at the start and no residual to find at the end. What you pay each month depends on the equipment, its price and the term, which is why a real indicative figure for your exact setup, in under two minutes, is worth more than any range on a page.
The three moves
Rent. Fixed monthly payments across your chosen term. The same amount every month, so the cost is known in advance rather than discovered later.
One or two final payments. At the end of the term, one or two further monthly payments, depending on the arrangement, and your quote will show which applies to you. Not a balloon, not a residual, and not a number you have to plan around for years.
Own it. The equipment is yours to keep, outright.
Why the ending matters
Most equipment arrangements end in one of two awkward ways. Either a large payment falls due that somebody has to find, or the term simply expires and the machine goes back after you have paid for years.
Rent to Own removes both. The end of the term is one or two ordinary monthly payments, depending on the arrangement, and your quote will show which applies to you. Then the asset is yours. That makes the whole commitment visible from the day you sign, which is the part finance teams tend to care about most.
Built for how institutions actually buy
Getting equipment approved is often harder than choosing it. A capital request competes with everything else in the queue. A fixed monthly payment sits inside the operating budget your team already runs.
Rental documentation can be signed by an authorised signatory, without complex identification requirements, and director guarantees are not required up to $100,000 where applicable. For amounts up to $250,000 ex GST, financial statements are not needed, subject to credit criteria.
The practical effect is that the equipment can be deployed without waiting on a capital sign off.
What it funds
All types of equipment and vehicles, under one arrangement. That matters more than it sounds. A workshop fit out, the vehicles that service it and the machines inside it can sit together rather than being split across separate arrangements that each need their own paperwork and their own approval.
Getting approved
Start with a real indicative figure, which takes under two minutes. From there the online application takes about ten minutes.
How you verify depends on who is signing. An authorised signatory at an institution signs the rental documentation, with no complex identification required. A business signer provides a current driver's licence and Medicare card, front and back. Either way there is an electronic privacy consent sent separately by DocuSign.
Your supplier is paid once the rental contract is signed.
Tax and your accounts
How the payments are treated depends on your circumstances. Your accountant is the right person to confirm it, and we will give them whatever figures they need. Prices and figures on this page are ex GST.

You make one or two further monthly payments, depending on the arrangement, and the equipment is yours outright. Your quote will show which applies to you. There is no balloon or residual to find.
